Individual Therapy - Looking for relief from anxiety, depression or other problems?
Our internal 'self-talk', the language and words that we use to explain our feelings and emotions, can be extremely powerful; through counselling and therapy, you as an individual can discover a more healthy way of understanding and communicating your experiences and emotions, helping you to deal better with the challenges in your life.
Individual Therapy can Encompass Many Areas

Further Information
Obviously not everyone's problems fit those headings exactly. Therapy can take many forms, just like anxiety and depression. Individual therapy provides you with a forum in which to explore, understand and join - building a strong sense of self and where you fit in your world. We collaborate to clarify and develop a clear identity, one which resonates with you and fits how you wish to be seen in your social and interpersonal world.
Sometimes we don't know that we're suffering from depression; it can take many forms, starting with feeling low, not having the same enthusiasm for life, activities, sport, or engaging with friends and in our intimate relationships. We just don't feel 'right'.
Anxiety also affects each of us differently, but it's when we stop being able to do the things that we used to do, when we begin to reduce our interactions, stop going out, can't be bothered with activities that used to bring us joy - that's when a check-up with a therapist can put us back on track. Of course, more major events, such as illness, relationship breakdowns, work / career upsets, stress and burnout, these can also push us out of our usual track and getting a handle on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours during these moments and before they push us out of our normal routine completely is important.
My broad life experience, coupled with extensive study and expertise, underpins a commonsense attitude towards counselling. Building upon a humanist framework, utilising strong communication skills built up through a career in the corporate world and subsequent training, I work with you to ensure compatibility in the counselling relationship, we collaboratively work to activate improved self-knowledge and build resourcefulness whilst I provide encouragement when you gain insight, make healthy choices and develop your ability to deal with normal everyday challenges as well as the more unusual trials of the life course.
Feel free to contact me providing a brief outline of the issues or challenges that might be troubling you; we can then collaborate to review, explore and work towards resolution.
