Couples Therapy can Improve Communication and Connection
At CARE Counselling, I provide couples therapy to couples of any gender, sexual orientation, ethnic/cultural group. Most couples experience challenges during the course of a relationship. I work with both partners to reduce distress, build resilience and acceptance, adopt healthy pro-couple behaviours, understand your partner's emotional, psychological, make-up (and your own), increase knowledge, self-awareness, and integrate this new learning into a new couple paradigm... one in which you can both take responsibility for the health and happiness of your couple relationship/marriage.

Relationship Challenges Are Normal

Most couples experience challenges during the course of their relationship. Challenges arise when one or both partners experiences a high level of distress or inability to cope with managing themselves, in the relationship, during these times. This is when couples therapy can help.
I utilise various proven approaches to offer a structured, integrated approach to the relationship challenges you may be facing as a couple.
Being trained in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy (GMCT) (Level 3 trained practitioner), the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) (Level II Clinician), The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy (Level 1 trained), and Relationship Australia Victoria's "Specialist Course in Couples Therapy", I am able to provide you with practical and evidence-based resources with which to reduce your relationship pain, open your minds to other possibilities, and improve your emotional and psychological well-being.
A thorough assessment of the current relationship situation and the events that have brought you to couples therapy is key. Exploring, identifying and understanding the initial problem allows us to achieve the best relationship solution. Together, through a structured, safe dialogue, and both joint & separate therapy sessions, we can identify the source of the relationship's difficulties, the struggles, and explore options as to how to move forward.
